Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church continues to help the needy in our community through the Food Pantry.  Starting in July 2021, the Food Pantry will not have a drive through pick up.  We will be going back to the pickup inside the Fellowship Hall as we did before the Covid-19 restrictions.    We are open the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 9-11 am and will continue to serve those in need.  If you have any questions, please call the church at 251-962-7682 and leave a message and someone will call you back.  We are an ”Equal Opportunity Provider” and refuse no one.

Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church Food Pantry started about 8 years ago, and about 6 years ago joined what was then known as “Feeding the Gulf Coast”, but soon the name changed to “Feeding America”. In the beginning, about 30 families were served. It has grown since then and at times we feed up to 50+ families. A monthly required report to the USDA helps not only the Feed America Warehouse stock with donations from Publix, Rouse’s, Piggly Wiggly, Walmart (just to name a few), but it also helps Shepherd of the Bay to keep food in stock. There is paperwork to be completed by all who come to the food pantry, but since all we deal with is food assistance, the paperwork only asks for a name, address, phone number, and the breakdown of who is in the family (such as how many are in the family unit, how many are over 60 and above, how many are 18 and under). We do not ask for proof of income and do not refuse anyone asking for food. We are an ”Equal Opportunity Provider” and refuse no one. The Food Pantry is open the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 9 – 11 am.
