At Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church we recognize the need for friendship and fellowship within our Church family. To help us grow in our relationships with each other, we offer various opportunities for fun and fellowship throughout the year. Everyone is always invited and guests are always welcome.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

In grateful response to the Savior's undying love and empowered by the Holy Spirit through Word and Sacraments, the mission of Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church is to share the love of Christ by word and deed within our church, community and the world.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

WE BELIEVE the Bible is the inspired, inerrant word of God and the final authority for all Christian teaching and living.

WE BELIEVE in God the Father, the Almighty Maker of heaven and earth, and the Provider of every good and perfect gift for our lives.

WE BELIEVE that mankind is born sinful and alienated from God which results in continued sinning against God and our fellow man, thus deserving death and damnation from with he cannot free himself.

WE BELIEVE in Jesus Christ, God’s only son, who lived a perfect life on this earth for us and died as mankind’s substitute on the cross to pay for our sinfulness.

WE BELIEVE that Jesus especially showed Himself to be true God of rising from the dead on Easter.  By His glorious resurrection victory, the forgiveness of sins is secured for all and life and salvation is accomplished and is given freely to all through faith in him.

WE BELIEVE that the essence of faith is trusting Jesus to be God’s Son and man’s Savior, and this alone redeems and saves a person for heaven.

WE BELIEVE in the Holy Spirt, who brings people to faith and empowers them to love God and others by the Gospel and the ministry of the Christian Church.

WE BELIEVE that Baptism and Communion are sacraments, whereby God’s  Holy Spirit especially imparts personally to people His saving grace and power to live confidently in the possession of Christ’s forgiveness of sins, life and eternal salvation.

WE BELIEVE that Jesus will come at the end of time to be the righteous judge of all.  When He comes, Jesus will raise all the dead from their graves and give everlasting life to all who believe.

WE BELIEVE finally, that until Jesus comes on Judgement Day, Christians are to worship Him as God, serve him faithfully and zealously through their local church as Lord, and live godly and righteous lives in all their activities and associations.

To our Guests:

Holy Communion is celebrated every Sunday here at Shepherd of the Bay.  By taking the Lord's Supper you are confessing that the true body and blood of Christ is connected to the bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins and the strengthening of faith.  The Bible (1 Corinthians 11:28-29) encourages each person to examine themselves, and confess their sins in preparation to receive the precious gift given in the sacrament.  The Lord bless you with peace of heart and peace of mind as you partake of the Lord's Supper and are touched by the Love of Jesus.
